CASE STUDY:
How STAYING ConsiStenT WITH SEO CONTENT REWARDS YOU.
Two waxing businesses. Two different approaches. Two very different ranking patterns.
One waxing studio continued investing in consistent SEO content. Another paused consistent publishing for about two months. We compared what happened to their Google rankings for local Brazilian and bikini waxing searches. Here's what the numbers show.
THE QUESTION
Does consistency really matter when your goal is getting more waxing clients from Google?
Every waxing business wants to show up when someone nearby searches for a Brazilian or bikini wax. Those are the searches that can put your business directly in front of someone ready to make an appointment.
But what happens when a business steps away from consistent blog publishing for SEO? And what does continued investment look like in the Google rankings?
We examined two waxing studios in different U.S. cities. The results provide an interesting contrast in local search visibility.
Look at what happened to their local searches.
The numbers below represent positions in Google search results. A smaller number is better: #1 is the highest position.
Consistent Waxing Studio
San Jose, California
Ongoing blogging and local SEO strategy,
with a commitment to four blogs per month.
Another Waxing Studio
Denver, Colorado
Previously publishing consistent SEO blogs;
regular publishing paused approximately
two months before the report.
Data: Organic keyword ranking exports dated October 28, 2026. The table uses the highest-ranking page for each listed keyword in the report. Previous positions are calculated using the reported rank change. These are selected examples, not every keyword tracked. Rankings reflect organic search rather than Google Maps. The studios operate in different markets, so this is an observational comparison, not a controlled experiment.
These aren't random Google searches. They're searches from people looking for a wax.
Someone searching "Brazilian wax in Denver" or "Bikini wax San Jose" isn't necessarily looking to read about waxing. They're looking for a local business that can perform the service.
That makes these rankings especially valuable. Searchers may be comparing salons, checking availability, reviewing prices, or deciding where to book.
Dropping from #6 to #12 can mean leaving the first page of traditional organic results. Moving from #12 to #8 can mean entering it.
What a ranking change actually looks like.
Two examples from the reports. The bars visualize ranking position on a 1–60 scale, not traffic or estimated bookings.
Waxing San Jose
Consistent Waxing Studio — ranking improved
Bikini Wax Denver
Studio with paused publishing — ranking declined
Three important lessons for waxers.
Keeping your rankings matters.
The Consistent Waxing Studio maintained first-page positions for the selected Brazilian and bikini waxing searches. Even when a ranking isn't climbing, remaining visible for valuable local searches is worth protecting.
There's always room to move higher.
The Consistent Waxing Studio's broader local searches also made gains. "Waxing San Jose" moved from #12 to #8, while "Waxing in San Jose" moved from #9 to #7. The next objective is stronger visibility in the highest positions.
SEO isn't a one-time project.
Search rankings can change as competitors improve their websites and Google's systems evolve. A continuing SEO strategy provides opportunities to strengthen service pages, publish targeted content, and respond when rankings change.
We don't publish blogs just to keep a website busy.
At Commva, the objective is to make each piece of content work toward a larger SEO goal: helping the right people discover your business.
Find valuable local searches.
Identify the service-related searches that matter most, especially Brazilian waxing, bikini waxing, and other appointment-driven keywords in your city.
Build supporting content.
Develop useful, original blog posts around strategic topics, with natural internal links supporting relevant service pages and the overall website.
Measure and refine.
Monitor ranking changes, identify lost and emerging opportunities, and adjust the content strategy as the competitive landscape changes.
Two markets. Two SEO approaches. One valuable reminder.
The Consistent Waxing Studio's continued SEO investment coincides with stable first-page visibility across several important Brazilian and bikini waxing searches, along with improvements in broader local waxing searches.
At the same time, another waxing studio experienced meaningful losses in several comparable local searches after pausing its consistent publishing.
Does this prove blogging frequency caused the difference? No. Different cities, competitors, website histories, and Google ranking factors all influence the outcome.
But the data reinforces why we believe in measuring local visibility and approaching SEO as an ongoing business investment rather than an occasional task.
